NHS Cord Blood Bank (NHS CBB) - In creating one life why not save another.

The NHS CBB was set up in 1996 to collect, process, store and supply cord blood

NHS CBB is for the sole purpose of providing a life saving product from something that is normally thrown away. Cord blood is the blood that remains in the placenta and umbilical cord following the birth of a baby. Following childbirth the placenta is normally thrown away along with the cord blood that is in it.

Cord blood is rich in blood stem cells, similar to those found in bone marrow, and these can be used to treat many different cancers, immune deficiencies and genetic disorders.

Five Tips to Help Lower Your Petrol Costs

1, Keep your tires fully inflated - When your tires are low on air, your petrol mileage may go down as much as 15 percent.

2. Carpool when you can - Sharing a ride with someone cuts down on fuel costs and in some areas you may have the added convenience of using a carpool lane.

3. Park in the shade - Parking in the shade will help keep your car cool. You will save money by not having to use the air conditioner as much.

4. Tune up - Keeping your car in tune will help improve petrol mileage. A misfiring sparkplug can reduce your petrol mileage by up to 30 percent.

5. Use lower octane petrol - Use the lowest octane petrol that is approved for your car. Check your owner's manual for octane requirements. Using higher octane than what is required will not provide better petrol mileage or better performance. Provided in the interests of a cleaner environement without any liability.
